A new office project proposal has been submitted in San Jose. Cupertino-based developer, KT Urban, recently submitted plans for two 20-story office towers that would total 1.8 million square feet. The site is located at 280 Woz Way, leading to the project’s aptly named Woz Way Offices.
“With the center of downtown San Jose shifting away from Santa Clara Street, southward towards Park Avenue and closer to transit options, we see the Woz Way project as a great way to activate this area with new opportunities reflecting this trend,” said Shawn Milligan, partner at KT Urban, in a released email statement.
The proposed site is located near the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and Children’s Discovery Museum. If given the green light, it would include 1.3 million square feet of office space, 6,000 square feet of retail, and 30,000 square feet of outdoor terraces.
With Portland-based C2K Architecture is the project architect and designer, KT Urban is planning to develop four levels of above-ground and underground parking totaling 1,215 spaces on the nearly 3-acre project site.
This project has a projected groundbreaking for some time in 2021.
KT Urban is already very active in Downtown San Jose, they are currently working with private student dorm developer Scape USA on an apartment tower project in downtown San Jose’s SoFA District called Garden Gate Tower. Scape purchased the development site, a parking lot at 600 S. 1st St., for $16.5 million last month. C2K Architecture is the project architect and designer.
